Tracker music radio in FastTracker II style, streaming MOD, XM, S3M and IT from The Mod Archive.
Release notes
Two archives to listen to, and a scroller that tells you what is playing.
Modland as a second source
Triangle now asks which archive first, then which station. The two are kept apart because they are organised differently: the Mod Archive by genre and chart, Modland by curated playlist.
Modland is read through its playlists, which are plain text files of direct links. Eight stations: the favourites of around 850 modules, a chiptune selection, netlabel releases, a couple of musicdisks and a demoparty compo.
The scroller says what is playing
The greeting runs its one pass at startup and is never cut short. After that the band carries the track: title, source, the tracker that wrote the module, channels, instruments, patterns, running time, and the genre and artist where the archive gave them. A new track fades the band out, swaps the line and fades it back in.
Visualiser
Stepping through presets follows a shuffled order instead of the alphabet. Sorted by filename, stepping meant working through one author at a time. The visualiser also moves on by itself every minute; L2 + Options turns that off.
Keep a track
L2 + Circle writes the playing module into music/ and adds it to index.txt, so a tune that would otherwise scroll out of the 20 track history can be kept.
Fixed
The interface named The Mod Archive everywhere, including while downloading from Modland. Each track now carries where it came from.
Installing
Copy the contents of PPSA01153.zip to /data/homebrew/PPSA01153/, reload the jailbreak chain and start it from the home screen. The 552 MilkDrop presets are in the zip; OliSePlayer-presets.zip is the same pack on its own, for adding to an install made without it.
